February 2006 – Friendship, Freedom, and True Connection
Overview:
February 2006 brings revelations in relating, and potentially revolutionary new forms of partnership, friendship, and tribe. Old traditions based on obligatory boding and codependency are giving way to natural connections based in truthful sharing and flexible loving connection.
Energy of the Month:
This month brings in a strong remembrance of how we related as tribe – when we lived steeped in cooperation and honesty by necessity – for abundance, for the sake of joy, and for survival. This old natural way of relating is awakening. It springs from enthusiastic connection of one’s truth to another’s truth. It is the excitement of sharing from the heart with another, without expectation or obligation. It is the heart-opening that springs from working side-by-side with others with shared intention. This joy holds the secret, forgotten for while in this culture, of true connection. Our connections which have built on the illusion of need, dependency, and obligatory diplomacy or niceness, are coming apart. We are re-learning what children already know – the pure joy and excitement of human connecting from honest expression in the moment. The energies of this month support this remembering.
What to Expect & What to Do:
You may find yourself more irritated by any relationship in which you are motivated by obligation instead of freedom in loving. You may feel yourself longing to be truly “met” in relating, in friendship, partnership, and community.
Our old culture of relating has been partly grounded in guilt and obligation. In your relating, when guilt or shame appear to force you away from your natural state of loving joy, literally tell the shame to “Go Away.” Say it out loud. Speak it strongly like you’d command an aggressive dog. This voice of condemnation and shame is the old energy of relating, and it is not your authentic voice, nor the voice of a loving creator. Instead of allowing yourself to be driven by shame or fear, see if you can turn the driver’s wheel over to your joyful enthusiasm for relating. Who do you WANT to see today? How does it feel to speak your truth to loving ears? See if you can tell even the difficult truths to your loved ones from this place of joyful enthusiasm for true connecting.
Helpful Exercise:
Hold someone you feel triggered by in your mind. Say “You are not my Source” to this vision, and imagine cutting any cords that sabotage your authentic relating. Imagine your power returning to you.
