Bye Bye Duality! Hello, New Age!

According to most ancient wisdom traditions, the Mayan Calendar, the Native American Prophesies, and many of our trusted psychic and spiritual teachers, we are entering a New Age. The Great Transformation is upon us. So what’s it all about?

It’s about Balance and Peace. But both of these words have an inherent assumption about them. What are we balancing? What is in conflict and calling for Peace? Duality. Duality is the concept that there are two sides to every coin. Dark and Light. Male and Female. Right and Wrong. Duality gives shape and reason to our societal structures, the ones that are supposed to give us safety and comfort, easy roles to fill in our lives, and a sense of order in the Universe.

But wait a minute! All of these separations of duality contradict the Universal Truth that We are All One. Uh-Oh! Spirit is a great one-ness, indivisible and without limitation. So how does Duality fit with that one!? We’ve been grappling with this question for a long time, mostly resolving to allow it to be a “mystery.”

Well, our grappling is reaching massive proportions as we see our current organizations, including our governments, our educational systems, and our “traditional” family units dissolve. With the new energies of honesty, holistic living, and open spirituality, Duality doesn’t seem to fit anymore.

What’s so bad about Duality, anyway? Well, there’s nothing much wrong with Duality if both sides of the coin are equally valued. But that’s not how it seems to work in society. Dark is bad; Light is Good. Death is bad; Birth is good. Old is Bad; Young is Good. Feminine is Bad; Masculine is Good. Psychic stuff is bad; Scientific stuff is good. Poor is Bad; Rich is Good. Street-smarts is bad; Academic education is Good. You get the point.

But the wise people, the ones who’ve lived long enough to Know, they look at all of these assumptions based in duality, shake their heads, and laugh out loud. Heck, even the kids look at all that and shake their heads. It’s getting to the point that we are embarrassed of even the unconscious parts of ourselves that still believe this nonsense. That’s how we know we’re outgrowing Duality.

So what’s the option? Total chaos? Mass murder is OK now that we don’t have Duality cause nothing is wrong anymore?! No, Silly. The reason we’re outgrowing Duality is because we’re awakening the deeper Wisdom of the Heart. Heart Wisdom.

Heart Wisdom allows us to discern what is right for us, without judging others. Judgmen t m akes something Wrong. Discernment, on the other hand, indicates when something is Wrong for Me Right Now. And when people are all in touch with Discernment, they can make good agreements with one another, without a huge power struggle over who is Right. Sounds kinda civilized, huh?

In the New Age, we are integrating the aspects of Duality. We’re not wiping out the differences between Feminine and Masculine, for example, but rather we are noticing their complementary nature, valuing them both, and integrating them into a whole. Integration. It goes well with Discernment. If a person has balanced and integrated their masculine and feminine, for example, that person is in a place to discern which energy is appropriate at which time. It’s a subtle dance of choice. It is freedom in action.

More and more people every day are awakening their hearts, and using Discernment instead of the Judgment of their Forefathers. There’s a lo t m ore hearts left to open. I know. But don’t get hopeless. This process is moving forward, and it will continue to do so by Divine Order. Focus on opening yourself to your own Heart Wisdom. Then, buckle your seatbelt. The transformation of the world is upon us, and it’s a roller coaster, so release the shackles of duality in your heart, open your arms to the Universe, and scream all the way down! Wheeee!
